Creating a New Template
You'll create a new template when you need a different configuration for mobile IDs. Maybe you're setting up templates for different departments, or you need separate templates for testing and production. Each template lets you define its own provider settings, sync schedule, and visibility rules.
Required roles: System Administrator, Manage Templates - Mobile Credential
To create new templates, you need one of the roles listed above.
Start creating
- Go to Templates → Mobile Credential
- Click the "Create New Mobile Credential Template" button at the top of the template list

Fill in the basics
When the create dialog opens, you'll need to provide a few details:
- Provider: Select provider (Currently only "STid Mobile ID Provider" is supported)
- Name: Give your template a clear, descriptive name (this is required). Something like "Corporate Headquarters" or "Remote Workers" works better than "Template 1"
- Description: This is optional, but adding a quick note about the template's purpose helps later—especially if you're managing multiple templates
The name is what you'll see in the template list and when selecting templates, so make it something you'll recognize.
Create and configure
Click "Create" to create the template. The template editor will open automatically so you can configure provider settings, sync behavior, and other options.
Don't worry about getting everything perfect right away—you can always come back and edit the template later if you need to adjust settings.
What's next?
Once your template is created, you'll want to:
- Edit template settings — Review all the configuration options available
