Duo ID Automatic Reminders

When a Credential Template uses Duo ID, Breeze can automatically send reminder emails to collaborators with pending verification requests — once at the halfway point to expiry, and once near the expiry date. Reminders reduce the number of requests that expire before the collaborator acts, without any ongoing admin effort.

Reminders are off by default and are configured per template. Enabling reminders on one template does not affect others. The setting applies to Duo ID requests already in progress when you enable it.

Prerequisite

Duo ID must be enabled on the template before the reminders section is visible.

Cleanup period

The cleanup period controls two things: how long the Duo ID request stays open, and when reminder emails are sent.

  • A 30-day period sends a reminder on day 15 and again on day 28.
  • Minimum: 2 days. Maximum: 180 days.
  • Cleanup periods shorter than 4 days may limit how many reminders are sent.
  • Changing the cleanup period on an active template adjusts the reminder schedule for requests already in progress.

What happens when a request expires

After a Duo ID request expires, the associated Credential enters Expired Retention status. Administrators have 15 days to re-send the Duo ID request from the Credential detail view before the Credential is permanently deleted. No data needs to be re-entered during the retention window.

See Credential Statuses for a full description of the Expired Retention status.
